Parks Canada reports repair work on the Highway 93 Iron Gates Tunnel at the Radium Hot Springs end of Kootenay National Park will begin on Monday, April 29.

The repair work will proceed daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and motorists can expect delays.

“This work will involve interior concrete repair and various improvements to meet modern day standards, completing the work that was started last year (2023),” Parks Canada explained.

The work is anticipated to be completed by May 10 and traffic will be single-lane alternating, with a 30 km/h speed in restriction in place.
