WCA asks community for help at hall

The Windermere Community Association (WCA) needs help from the community.

We are working hard to make some updates to the Windermere Community Hall. At our public meeting, we heard the message loud and clear from you that you wanted the hall kept for community use.

We have renovated and created a caretaker’s suite. This will provide funds to cover our costs while keeping the hall available for the community.

A super group of volunteers are organizing the Spring Fair on May 18 to raise awareness and funds for upkeep.

With all these visitors coming to our hall and a renter moving in, we need your help to make it look presentable.

The list below includes many of the jobs that need to be done. If you have a few minutes or an hour, you could help us all. If any of the jobs below take a lot of time and you have the skill, we are a charitable organization that can provide receipts for your time.

THE LIST

We have many historical pictures of the community that we would love to hang in the hall. Maybe a small display with more information about our past?

The benches out front need some TLC.

The windows need to be washed.

The yard needs to be raked.

The yard needs to be mowed.

The sprinkler system needs help.

A small drywalling job needs to be done.

A range hood needs to be installed.

A large shelving unit needs to be painted. To be honest a couple walls need paint as well!

The fence around the hall is in disrepair, and we would like to take it down. (Anyone want an old fence?)

The front garden needs to be cleaned out.

The juniper bush is a fire hazard and needs to be cut out.

The front and back patio areas need to be blown off and cleaned up.

The stage needs to be cleared and the audio equipment assessed.

If you can spare some time and would like to help us save the hall, we will be at the hall this Saturday, May 11, at 11 a.m. If you can help with any of the other jobs but at another time, please contact us, and we will do what we can to support you.

Thank you all for your support!

Many hands make light work.
