SD6 hosting online engagement for draft Operational Plan

Each year as part of a continuous improvement cycle, Rocky Mountain School District (SD6) develops an operational plan that outlines the goals and strategies that will be the focus of the work for the upcoming year.

This plan is guided by the current four-year strategic plan using a variety of sources of student data as the foundation for decision making the district and individual schools develop plans that identify targets for improving student learning. These plans are linked to the British Columbia Ministry of Education and Child Careā€™s Framework for Enhancing Student Learning legislation and reporting policy.

The voices of community partners, parents, students, and staff are critical to the process and input is sought through a variety of engagement activities throughout the year. The Operational Plan guides the work of schools and district based staff to keep a clear focus on the most important growth for students.

ā€œIt is so important to share our student learning, propose a plan, and receive feedback from the community. We take that information and revise our Operational Plan before we submit it to the Ministry,ā€ explained SD6 Acting Superintendent Steve Wyer.
