Spring road load restrictions in effect

The B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (Rocky Mountain District East Kootenay service area) has announced 70% Legal Axle Loading restrictions will be imposed on all provincial sideroads, paved or gravel, south of Radium Hot Springs and west of the Alberta Border, (except as otherwise listed).

The restrictions, Pursuant to Section 66 of the Transportation Act, began Saturday, March 16.

The following provincial sideroads, paved or gravel, south of Radium Hot Springs and west of the Alberta Border are 100% Legal Axle Loading:

#6, Athalmer Road;
#382, Buckman Road;
#314, Cooper Road;
#921, Eager Hill-Fort Steele Road (Central Subregion Landfill);
#389 Farstad Way;
#1, Fording Mine Road;
#326, Galloway Mill Road;
#108, Green Road (Canal Flats Transfer Station);
#2, Kikomun Road;
#28, Lumberton Road (Hwy 3 to railway tracks);
#4, Toby Creek Rd;
#255, Windermere Loop Road (Hwy 93/95 south entrance to Windermere Transfer Station.

The following provincial Numbered Routes south of Radium and west of the Alberta Border are 100% Legal Axle Loading:

#3, Crowsnest Highway;
#43, Elk Valley Highway;
#93, Elko-Roosville Highway;
#95A, Kimberley Highway;
#95, Kingsgate Yahk Highway;
#93/95, Kootenay-Columbia Highway.
