CBKSAR rescue ill canoeist
Cranbrook Search and Rescue (CBKSAR) earlier today conducted a medical rescue along the Kootenay River near Wardner.
CBKSAR reported on its Facebook page that a canoeist fell ill of what appeared to be dehydration.
“A SAR medical team flew into the area and were able to land next to the groups camp along the Kootenay River near Wardner. The two medics assessed the patient and loaded him into the helicopter,” CBKSAR said.
SAR flew the patient to the Bighorn Helicopter hanger and the unnamed rescued paddler’s care was transferred BC Ambulance Service.
