Eddie Mountain lead clash in Kimberley Saturday
Three weeks into the 2016/17 Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) season and the Creston Valley Thunder Cats remain undefeated heading into this weekās play (6-0).
Nipping at the Eddie Mountain Division leading Catsā heels are the Kimberley Dynamiters with a five win, one loss record. The Nitros have a shot Saturday evening to even things up with Creston with a 7 p.m. clash at the Kimberley Civic Centre.
Kimberley defeated the Golden Rockets 4-2 Sept. 27 at the Civic Centre, with forward Franco Colapaolo leading the way with a hat-trick.
The 1-4 Columbia Valley Rockies look to turn a slow start around in Spokane this evening against the 2-5 Braves (game time is 8 p.m. MST). On Saturday, the Rockies head north to Grand Forks for a tilt against the 3-2-1 Border Bruins.
The Fernie Ghostriders are in Golden taking on the 3-4 Rockets this evening; game time is 7 p.m. The 1-4-1 Riders are home at the Fernie Memorial Arena Saturday, Oct. 1 for a match-up with the 3-2 Castlegar Rebels. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
Next weekend, Kimberley takes to the road for a tilt in Castlegar Oct. 7 and Invermere, on Oct. 8, for a 7:30 p.m. clash with the Rockies at the Eddie Mountain Memorial Arena.
The Rockies are in Golden Friday, Oct. 7.
The Ghostriders head across the line for a tilt with the Spokane Braves Oct. 7 and then roll back north to Grand Forks Saturday night.
