Workshops for new homebuilders
The Community Energy Association is pleased to announce three training and education opportunities for the homebuilding industry coming to the East Kootenay November 16-18.
The workshops will support homebuilders in getting certified to build to ENERGY STAR for New Homes, and building officials with understanding more about energy efficiency and code compliance. Workshops will be at Invermere’s Pynelogs Cultural Centre on November 16, (7:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.) Fernie’s Park Place Lodge on November 17 (7:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.) and St. Eugene Golf Resort and Casino outside Cranbrook on November 17 & 18. An evening reception is being held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Nov. 17 and the workshop runs 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 18
Attendees will earn CPD Credits, understand how to obtain Utility ENERGY STAR rebates, and how to benefit from local initiatives. The feature speaker at all events will be Richard Kadulski, an architect who has specialized in energy efficient home building for over 30 years. At the Cranbrook session, the Director of Environmental Programs for CHBA will be speaking on the unique opportunity to market energy efficiency.
This workshop is open for all trades, contractors, realtors, building officials (BOABC credits available), suppliers, developers, and all others associated with the home building industry.
