Park on Us 2016 raised $13,296
The Board of Directors, staff, volunteers and the supported agencies of United Way East Kootenay wish to thank Cranbrook city council and the 130 businesses and organizations who supported this year’s Park on Us parking meter sign sales and/or donated items for our Silent Auction.
Thanks also to the Youth Impact Youth Centre for manning the barbeque, great job, enjoyed by all!
Parking meter sign sales were down this year but we are confident many businesses unable to support us this year will next year. This is the only fundraiser held by our United Way and is absolute proof of what can be accomplished when many get involved and play a part, big or small.
Special thanks to our Event Associates who worked at contacting businesses and arranged pickups. Fredrick whom we will miss, and Summer who carried everything forward remarkably.
A total of $13,296 was raised this year; although down from the previous two years, still rewarding, and compelling stronger efforts next year. Businesses are asked to set an amount aside in their donation budgets for this popular event.
The United Way annual campaign activities ensure that 18+ agencies receive funds that ensure supports are available for those needing help. All United Way investments address our focus areas of: All that Kids Can Be, Strong Communities and Poverty to Possibility.
Your support is needed and so appreciated.
