New Cranbrook office for Kootenay East MLA

Kootenay East MLA Tom Shypitka officially opened a new Cranbrook constituency office Sept. 22 with a gathering of city and regional dignitaries and residents, as well as fellow Liberal MLA Doug Clovechok, Columbia River-Revelstoke.

The two-hour grand opening event attracted many visitors, from City of Cranbrook officials and firefighters, Ktunaxa Nation representatives, Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce members and staff, dozens of regional residents and District of Elkford Mayor Dean McKerracher, on his way to the annual Union of British Columbia Municipalities conference in Vancouver.

The event also featured a fundraising barbecue for fire relief efforts in the riding.
