Obituary for Carol Anne Daniels

DANIELS, Carol Anne

October 29, 1955 – October 27, 2017

It is with great sorrow that the family of Carol Anne Daniels announces her passing in Cranbrook, BC on Friday, October 27, 2017, at the age of 61. Carol is lovingly remembered by her mother Mary, her sister Marla (Robert), and her brother David (Karen). Auntie Carol’s memory will also be cherished by her niece Marla Ann (children Hanna and Justin), her nephews Jerad (Rebecca, children Devon and Maxam), Kevin and Byron, as well as by extended family. Carol was predeceased by her father Charles in 1997 and her brothers James in 2010 and Gerry in 2017.

Carol was born in Calgary, and grew up in Brooks and Edmonton. A graduate of the University of Alberta (B.Ed. ‘78), Carol’s teaching years were focused in Edmonton, Prince Albert, SK, and Calgary, where she contributed to the success of thousands of junior high school students over 35 years. Following retirement from St. Rose of Lima School in Calgary, Carol fulfilled her dream of living in the mountains in Cranbrook, BC. Her interests included nature appreciation, walking, indigenous cultures, visual arts, making jewelry, sewing, cooking, reading and life-long learning.

The family is grateful to the doctors, the nurses, and generous Hospice Society volunteers for their thoughtful and compassionate care of Carol during her final weeks in Palliative Care at East Kootenay Regional Hospital. As per Carol’s wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life with the family will be held in the future. In lieu of floral tributes, memorial donations may be made to a women’s cancer research fund of your choice or the Cranbrook Kimberley Hospice Society, 20 – 23rd Avenue South, Cranbrook, BC, V1C 5V1 www.ckhospice.com.
