The Columbia Outdoor School and The Raw House are teaming up to send local children to Blue Lake Camp this summer, by delivering lunches to local businesses the week of March 12.

From March 5-8, local businesses can put in their lunch order with the Raw House. Lunch options include cold pressed juices, fresh salads, and soups. One dollar from every item ordered goes directly to the Columbia Outdoor School’s Blue Paddle Program, which funds local children to attend Blue Lake Camp. Lunches are delivered the following week.

“We are excited to team up with The Raw House on this project,” said Todd Hebert, Executive Director of Columbia Outdoor School. Columbia Outdoor School is the organization that runs Blue Lake Camp, which has been in operation since 1977. “Our Blue Paddle Program allows children in our community to have important childhood camp experiences. They learn outdoor skills, build friendships, and create memories.”

“The goal of The Raw House is to improve the everyday health of our community by providing convenient and healthy plant-based nutrition,” said Julie Taylor, co-owner of The Raw House with Natasha Benson. “We feel Blue Lake achieves the same goal in a different way, by providing youth healthy outdoor experiences. We are proud to be supporting both the Blue Paddle Program and local youth.”

“Whether you ask your boss to buy you lunch, treat a co-worker to lunch, or treat yourself,” added Hebert. “You’re getting a delicious, healthy lunch; and you’re sending kids to camp. It’s a win- win for everyone.”

The Cranbrook Chamber will be sending order forms to all of their members by email. If you are not a Chamber member, you can request an order form by emailing [email protected]; or by stopping at the Cranbrook Chamber office or The Raw House.
