Fernie SAR rescues injured sledder
Fernie Search and Rescue (SAR) was tasked Yesterday afternoon (March 4) to rescue an injured snowmobiler.
A 23-year-old male, part of a larger group, sustained a significant lower leg injury while on his machine. The group stabilized the injury, stamped out a landing zone and were able to provide coordinates.
Two SAR technicians responded by helicopter to the location on the pipeline. The subject was delivered to BC Ambulance Service in Fernie and taken to hospital.
