Netflix scam appears in valley
Columbia Valley RCMP Sgt. Darren Kakuno is alerting residents about a new form of email scam that has appeared.
“Last week I learned someone had contacted the Columbia Valley Pioneer to report they received a suspicious email claiming to be from Netflix. The email advised the recipient their account information was outdated and prompted the recipient to follow a link to update their information. This is yet another scam and if anyone receives a similar email they should delete the email,” Sgt. Kakuno reported.
He also advises: “do not follow any of the links or enter any login information, personal information or banking information. If you’re concerned your personal information has been compromised, you should change your password and contact your financial institution.”
