MLA hosting grizzly bear discussion Jan. 8
Kootenay East MLA Tom Shypitka is hosting an evening discussion on grizzly bears in the South Country on Jan. 8.
In a Facebook event notice, Shypitka invites residents to the Jaffray Community Hall this upcoming Tuesday from 7-9 p.m.
“This meeting is to discuss the safety concerns of South Country residents in regards to the increased bear encounters,” Shypitka said.
Inspector Joe Caravetta, Ministry of Environment – Conservation Office Branch will be in attendance, along with Stan Doehle, Regional District of East Kootenay Electoral Area B Director. The Ministry of Environment will be phoning in as well.
