SkillsBC Regional Competition March 1
Over 100 students from the East and West Kootenay will gather to compete in the Skills Canada 2019 British Columbia Regional Competition at College of the Rockies, Mt. Baker Secondary School and Fabrite.
This annual event provides local students with opportunities to discover, explore and showcase in demand careers from a variety of sectors. Winners in each division will move onto Provincials April 17 at the Tradex Center in Abbotsford.
There are 40 volunteer Technical Chairs and judges for the one-day event, taking place March 1.
This year Fabrite is sponsoring the venue and providing materials for the Welding event. Mardis is providing the wood for the Carpentry and Cabinet making event.

Location: College of the Rockies, Mt. Baker and Fabrite.
Time: 8 a.m. registration – Competition begins 8:30 a.m.; Public Speaking awards 11 a.m.
Junior Skills Award at 1 p.m. All other awards at 3:30 p.m.
