ZZ Top returning with Cheap Trick
Classic and blues rock fans rejoice; ZZ Top is returning to Cranbrook’s Western Financial Place in the New Year and they’re bringing Cheap Trick with them.
Frank Beard, Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill have been rocking together since emerging from Houston, Texas as a power trio in 1970.
With three multi-platinum, seven platinum and 11 gold records to their credit, ZZ Top’s 50 million plus album sales worldwide sees them among the top 100 selling artists.
Considered one of the hardest working acts in rock history, ZZ Top was installed in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and Cheap Trick in 2016.
Cheap Trick has been rocking almost as long as ZZ Top, forming in 1973 in Illinois and releasing their first album in 1977. Including the awesome live Cheap Trick at Budokan LP, the band has sold more than 20 million albums world-wide.
Three of the original band members will be performing; Rick Nielsen, Robin Zander and Tom Petersson with Rick’s son Daxx Nielsen on drums.
ZZ Top performed two shows in Cranbrook back in 2010.
ZZ Top with special guests Cheap Trick will be in Cranbrook on Tuesday, May 5, 2020.
Tickets go on sale Friday, December 20 at 10 a.m.
