Kimberley Aquatic Centre suspending operations
The City of Kimberley has now decided to close the Kimberley Aquatic Centre due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.
Effective at 8 p.m. today, March 16, the aquatic centre will suspend all operations.
The move comes in close proximity with a planned spring shutdown, the city noted.
“Staff had anticipated a full spring shutdown of the aquatic centre in the coming weeks and will implement that shutdown earlier than planned. Staff will be performing yearly required maintenance to the facility and providing a deep clean to all surfaces in the building,” the city outlined in a public update.
“We look forward to re-opening as soon as operationally possible.”
