Smoky skies alert issued for south East Kootenay
The B.C. Ministry of Environment & Climate Change Strategy, Interior Health and the First Nations Health Authority have today (August 12) issued a Smoky Skies Bulletin for the southern East Kootenay.
The region is noted as being likely to be impacted by wildfire smoke over the next 24-48 hours.
âPotential smoke impacts are localized to Kimberley and Cranbrook as fire crews extinguish small wildfires in the area. Regions included under this bulletin: East Kootenay (south) includes Kimberley, Cranbrook, Yahk, Moyie, Wasa Lake Provinical Park, Jaffray, Grasmere and Roosville.
