Trails Society gets approval to build connector

The connection will be made!

The Kimberley Trails Society announced Sept. 14 it has received approval to build a connector trail over to Matthew Creek and eventually Bootleg.

“Once completed, you’ll be able to travel on trail from the low point of Mr. Toad/Shapeshifter over to Bootleg. This will be a great addition to The Great Trail (Trans Canada Trail) and a much needed connection to the rest of our wonderful trail system,” the trails society stated on social media.

“We are planning on hosting multiple, safe, socially distant trail work events. Every Tuesday, we’ll meet at the base of Matthew Creek FSR at 5:30 to work on the new trail. The KTS Trail crew will also be working during the day and, with notice, you are welcome to join them.”

We’d love it if you signed up beforehand so we have your info and can plan for your attendance.

Sign up here: kimberleytrails.org/volunteer-with-us.html or meet us at the bottom at 5:30 p.m. with the plan to get out before dark.
