Cranbrook Fire and Emergency Services members responded to a structure fire at Kootenay Springs across from 7/11 on 6th Street North early Saturday evening, Oct. 17.

The cause of the full-response fire is still under investigation. The building was abandoned.

“We would like to thank Cranbrook RCMP and BC Emergency Health Services for their assistance in making the scene safe and looking after our members,” stated Cranbrook Professional Fire Fighters Local 1253 on social media this afternoon (Oct. 18).

“Additionally, thank you to the motorists who avoided this area, which allowed our off duty members to respond quickly.”
