Thief arrested for drilling holes in gas tanks to steal fuel
On March 18, Elk Valley RCMP arrested a 35-year-old male from Alberta in relation to fuel thievery, involving gas tanks having holes drilled in them.
The arrested male has been released on an undertaking to answer to a charge of theft under $5,000 and mischief along with other charges unrelated to this original offence, reported Cst. Debra Katerenchuk of Elk Valley RCMP.
The male is to appear in Fernie court in early May.
Since the arrest, there has been no other reports of stolen fuel in the Elk Valley.
