TV show filming causing traffic closure May 1 in Fernie
Film production work will close a section of downtown Fernie to traffic the morning of Sunday, May 1.
The City of Fernie announced April 25 it will be closing the block of 2nd Avenue between 5th Street. and 6th Street to vehicle traffic from 6 – 11 a.m.
Additionally, 6th Street will be closed to vehicle traffic at 2nd Avenue, as will Station Square.
Pedestrian traffic will be allowed.
Sprinter Productions 8 Ltd. and Bell Media Inc. have been working with the City of Fernie on a TV series that will feature Fernie. The show is to air on CTV this fall.
There will be a notification of filming signage in place granting the right to film in the area. Anyone in the area on Sunday, May 1, should be aware they may be recorded and appear in the production, the city noted.
