Al Miller to serve second term as Invermere Mayor
District of Invermere voters won’t be casting votes for mayor on Oct. 15 as incumbent Mayor Al Miller will return acclaimed for four more years.
However, voters have five options for the four council seats with only two incumbents seeking re-election, including former mayor and multi-term Councillor Gerry Taft and Coun. Kayja Becker.
Seeking election for the first time are: Jack Caldbick, Mark Topliff and Theresa Wood.
Voters have two options for School Board of Trustees for Rocky Mountain School District (No. 6), with Matthew Chapman and Ryan Stimming.
General voting day is Saturday, October 15, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. at Columbia Valley Centre (646 – 4th Street).
Advance voting will be held as follows: Wednesday, October 5 Between 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday, October 13 between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the District of Invermere office at 914 – 8th Avenue, Invermere.
A special voting opportunity will be held for qualified electors who are patients or staff of the Columbia Gardens at the time of voting, as follows: Friday, October 7 from 9 to 11 a.m.
