Alison Brown Quartet plays Key City Theatre

Alison Brown is a Grammy Award-winning banjo virtuoso and internationally recognized musician with a wide reaching and loyal fan base. She has achieved success in many areas: a Harvard graduate, record label co-founder and owner, mother and the role that most people know her in: banjo virtuoso.

Brown has received three Grammy nominations for her solo recordings and a Grammy Award in 2001 for Best Country Instrumental Performance as well as the International Bluegrass Music Association’s award for Banjo Player of the Year.

A former member of Alison Krauss and Union Station, Brown has been praised for her take on the traditionally Appalachian instrument which has earned her features on CBS Sunday Morning, NPR’s All Things Considered and in The Wall Street Journal among others. Alison Brown will be performing with her Quartet, John R. Burr (piano/keyboards), Garry West (bass) and Kendrick Freeman (drums).
Opening for Alison Brown Quartet is Creston musician Elena Yeung.
