Cranbrook Fire & Emergency Services (CFES) is today burning cured piles from last summer’s wildfire reduction projects, including above Westlawn Cemetery, the Park Royal green belt and on city-owned land next to the Idlewild parking lot.

This is an important step in the process to reduce the risk of wildfire on city-owned properties around the community.

Some smoke is possible around town today. CFES is closely monitoring the burns.
