Kimberley community cleanup coming up
The City of Kimberley, Wildsight Kimberley-Cranbrook and the Canadian Tire CommuniTeam are teaming up for the Kimberley Community Cleanup.
We’re calling on community residents, schools, and organizations to come together and rejuvenate local neighbourhoods, green spaces, and urban engagement areas. This all-ages event is a fantastic opportunity to get outdoors, team up with family and friends, and do your part to give Kimberley a spring clean.
This year, there are two ways to play:
- Monday – Friday, April 17 to 21: Take matters into your own hands! Hosted by the City of Kimberley, sign up as a school, group or individual to participate during the week. Contact the City of Kimberley to pick up bags and select a location. How: Email [email protected]to register
- Saturday, April 22: Join forces – together! Hosted in partnership with the City of Kimberley, Wildsight Kimberley Cranbrook, and Canadian Tire Cranbrook CommuniTeam, join community members and organizations canvassing various locations in Kimberley. A waste bin will be available at the Civic Centre at the end of the cleanup.
Where: Civic Centre, Kimberley
When: Arrive by 10 a.m. to receive routes, return by 2 p.m.
Things to know: Garbage bags and gloves will be available.; Dress appropriately for the weather and bring lots of water!
Please consider walking or biking and wearing bright clothing for better roadside visibility.
We have been getting tons of requests for supplies from groups to participate during the week including all of the schools and several local businesses.
There are also lots of groups already registered for the weekend event at the Civic Centre. If you would like to put a team together, that would be amazing!
Otherwise, helping to spread the word does a lot for our community as well.
