The legendary Bonspiel-on-the-Lake is planned for the weekend of January 17 to 19 at Invermere’s Kinsmen Beach.

This will be the 40th anniversary of the longest running outdoor bonspiel in Canada and as per usual, you don’t stand a chance of playing in it unless you are already registered.

All 64 teams in the main bonspiel have been filled and all 16 teams in the Hunger Games Spiel have been filled, the Invermere Curling Club reports.

The bonspiel is always a popular draw for visitors and locals as the action is often spiced up with costumes and good humour and don’t forget the Saturday night dinner and dance.
