Daycare vandalized two nights in a row

For the past two nights the Kids on Campus Daycare has been hit with acts of vandalism.

RCMP report that sometime over night on March 3 unknown vandals threw a log and a crowbar through the windows of the administration office, which faces toward the College of the Rockies parking lot.

The daycare was able to secure these windows with plywood. Then, overnight March 4, unknown vandals took liquor bottles, rocks and beverage containers and threw them through the other windows.

“This is a horrible act of vandalism affecting young children. The broken glass from the windows has landed in the beds where the children take their naps, putting them at risk,” the RCMP press release notes.

Daycare staff say they are unsettled by the repeat incidents.

Should anyone have any information on who is responsible for this damage, they are asked to contact the Cranbrook RCMP (250 489-3471).
