MusicFest on the waterfront
Columbia Valley Arts is hosting an outdoor waterfront MusicFest at Kinsmen Beach the evening of Sunday, August 4, from 4 to 10 p.m.
A new initiative for CV Arts and the Columbia Valley, the stage and festival grounds are set at the Kinsmen Beach Greenspace with Lake Windermere as a backdrop.
The Waterfront Music Festival will be a memorable, entertaining and edgy musical experience for our Columbia Valley residents and visitors.
The main act features the sultry, soulful and entertaining singer, Shakura S’Aida (pictured). She is an international artist who has been enriching the Canadian scene for almost 25 years.
She was a 2013 Juno Awards Nominee for Best Blues Album and Indie Awards Nominee for Blues Artist of the Year.
Shakura S’Aida’s soulful voice takes jazz, blues, and R&B to a new realm. Find out more at [www.shakurasaida.com].
We have also confirmed Plastic Acid from Vancouver, an electrified symphonic small scale ‘rock orchestra’ that takes classical and rock music to a whole new level and Fine Times, an energetic ride that will certainly entice concert goers to get up and dance with their trademark vintage synths!
CV Arts mandate is to support our valley musicians, so we will be providing local favorites the opportunity to perform on the side stage between set change over. With this eclectic lineup of musical genres, the Invermere MusicFest is sure to attract all music lovers.
Arrowhead Brewery is operating the beer garden, with the MusicFest Food Village offering a variety of reasonable priced international food & refreshments on site for sale.
The seating set-up is Festival Style…bring your own seating and blankets! Low chairs have priority in front of the main stage. Higher lawn chairs will be restricted to back and side locations so as not to block anyone’s view. Bleachers will also be available for seating. Dance zones will be near the front on both sides of the mainstage.
Tickets are for sale at Arrowhead Brewery, The Book Bar, Syndicate Boardshop & Pynelogs Cultural Centre.
