Nominations open for Fernie Community & Business Excellence
Elk Valley Residential Housing Awards on same night this year
The annual Fernie Community & Business Excellence Awards take place each October, and honour those individuals and businesses in our community that make a difference!
The award categories for this year’s awards are as follows:
– New Business of the Year, sponsored by GPI Chartered Accountants
– Fernie Business of the Year, sponsored by GPI Chartered Accountants
– Outstanding Customer Service, sponsored by Fernie Alpine Resort
– Chamber Business Excellence, sponsored by The Fernie Chamber of Commerce
– Entrepreneur of the Year- sponsored by Community Futures East Kootenay
– Young Entrepreneur of the Year- sponsored by Teck Coal
– Community Impact Award, sponsored by Finning
– Citizen of the Year, sponsored by the City of Fernie
– Community Tourism Achievement award, sponsored by Tourism Fernie
– Volunteer of the Year award, sponsored by The Free Press.
Nominations are now open and will remain open until October 7. Businesses can nominate themselves!

This year the Elk Valley Residential Housing Awards will be awarded on the same evening as the Community & Business Excellence Awards (details TBD).
Hosted by The Canadian Home Builders Association- Rocky Mountain, awards categories are as follows:
– Best New Home over $500,000, sponsored by Focus Engineering
– Best New Home under $500,000, sponsored by Falkins Insurance
– Best Built Green Home, sponsored by Fortis BC
– Best Home Renovation less than $80,000, sponsored by Home Building Centre
