RM Diesel’s ‘Crashed Cars’ returns for Starlite Campaign

It’s been six years since East Kootenay Foundation for Health launched its annual Starlite Campaign with hopes of lighting 17 brilliant blue stars along the roof line of the East Kootenay Regional Hospital and raising much needed funds for health care initiatives in the region.

It is also six years since Cranbrook’s Rocky Mountain Diesel & Autobody got behind the Starlite Campaign.

This week Chris Thom, owner of the company, announced that they are aiming to light two stars ($10,000) during the 2013 Starlite Campaign with their own unique fundraiser Crashed Cars for Health Care.

“Our connection with the East Kootenay Foundation for Health has been over more than a decade. What started as a way to thank our staff and customers with a donation to health care has now become a gift for us,” explains Chris. “We are privileged to see that our financial support has stayed in the East Kootenay; and with the help of EKFH the money was allocated to regional facilities including seniors’ homes, the emergency room, intensive care unit and the recent digital mammography equipment. We are proud to be an ongoing foundation and Starlite Campaign supporter.”

Crashed Cars for Health Care will direct donations to EKFH’s unrestricted fund and provide funding support for Fall Prevention Programs in the East Kootenay. The money will be utilized to purchase items such as bed and wheelchair alarms, hip protectors and/or fall mats; all in an effort to keep patients safe from falls.

Since Rocky Mountain Diesel’s business is focused regionally its Starlite gift is also focused on health care facilities in Golden, Columbia Valley, Elk Valley, Creston, Cranbrook and Kimberley.

If you are interested in investing in the current and future health care needs of your community, please consider an unrestricted gift towards the Starlite Campaign this holiday season.

EKFH is a leader in publically supported health care fundraising, practicing responsible allocation of funds that ensure your money is going where it is needed most. Visit www.ekfh.ca for more information or to make a charitable gift.
