Three arrested for drug trafficking

Three persons were arrested on January 15 at road check on Cranbrook Street N, for Drug Trafficking. Police had received a tip from the public about persons involved in trafficking of drugs and set up a road check in order to apprehend the individuals. The check had been going for over five hours when the suspect vehicle approached, at which time two males and one female were arrested and taken into custody.

A search of the vehicle located, cocaine, heroin and crystal meth, along with drug paraphernalia. A 23-year-old female and two males (44 and 26) are all currently in custody. Police are continuing the investigation and charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking are being considered.

On January 16 a bail hearing was conducted, a Judicial Justice of the Peace remanded him in custody, he will appear in court again on Monday, January 20. A 23-year-old female and 26-year-old male have been released but police will be recommending charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Crystal Meth).

The RCMP members in both Kimberley and Cranbrook actively seek information about those involved in drug trafficking and act on it once they gain sufficient evidence. These arrests are a testament to the lengths officers will go to in order to apprehend and charge those involved in the drug trade.
