Wildfire causes evacuation and closure of White Swan Provincial Park

Wildfire near Whitetail Brook, about 10 kilometres east of the Village of Canal Flats has now lead to the Wildfire Management Branch closing off access to White Swan Forest Service Road and White Swan Provincial Park being closed until further notice. Fire crews are now working on informing people and evacuating them.

The Wildfire Management Branch is conducting a full response to this fire, including four helicopters, three water tenders supporting 50 personnel on the ground.

The fire danger in the Southeast Fire Centre is between moderate and extreme, there is an open fire ban but campfires are still allowed.
