Panorama begins construction of 1000 Peaks Lodge

Construction of the 1000 Peaks Lodge at Panorama Mountain Village started on August 11.

Located in the Upper Village, the 37-unit slope-side lodge is set to be completed in June 2015, and will add to Panorama’s current lodging options of fully equipped ski in / ski out and slope side condos and townhomes.

“We are really pleased that construction is starting next week and know that 1000 Peaks homeowners will be very excited to see the first contractors on-site, “ said Steve Paccagnan, CEO of Panorama Mountain Village. “Panorama is growing in popularity and the construction of 1000 Peaks Lodge is just one of many developments happening this year to keep up with visitor demand.”

Recently rated Best Family Ski Resort in Canada by the UK Telegraph, Panorama is currently a hive of activity as work progresses on improvements for the coming winter season.

The installation of a new quad chairlift is now complete and will open in December. The new lift will provide greater access to beginner terrain below Founder’s Ridge and entry into an improved Novice Ski Zone with terrain that is all about fun and progressive learning.

Construction in the 21-lot Trappers Ridge development is also well underway with the framework already complete on two houses. The first residents are likely to be settled into their new ski in/ ski out homes by opening day on December 12.

Extensive glading is taking place in the backcountry style areas of Taynton Bowl and the Extreme Dream Zone. Panorama is renowned for having some of the best fall line skiing in Canada and the glading of these areas will provide more choice for tree skiing enthusiasts.

“Panorama has grown into a world class destination resort and is no longer in the shadow of competitors like Big White and Lake Louise. Mr Paccagnan said. “We are seeing a huge resurgence in visitors arriving from the UK, Australia, New Zealand and locally from Calgary and Edmonton. We are focused on providing guests with an exceptional experience and the developments we are currently working on will improve what we have to offer.”

Construction of the new clubhouse at Greywolf Golf Course is also nearing completion and will provide members and guests with a state of the art service. The new clubhouse features underground cart and club storage, a full service locker area, 2,000-square-foot Pro Shop and a family restaurant with one of the most outstanding outdoor patios in the area.

Panorama Mountain Village will open on December 12 for winter operations.
