Cardboard box village to rise at Pothole
Aiming to boost awareness of homelessness, the Summit Youth Centre Society is holding a Cardboard Box City Sleepover in Invermere’s Pothole Park on Oct. 10.
A poster for the event notes all ages are welcome to participate in the sleepover, which will include a box decorating competition between 7 and 9 p.m. on Friday evening.
For those who spend the entire night, gaining a true insight into the life of the homeless, there will be a pancake breakfast Saturday morning.
Youngsters are encouraged to bring their parents and everyone thinking about joining in us encouraged to bring a friend or two.
Remember to dress warmly and bring a sleeping bag, blankets and a pillow
