World-class leadership training coming
On Friday, May 8 Leadercast JCI Kootenay, a conference designed to build leaders in business, communities and organizations will be hosted by JCI Kootenay (Junior Chamber International) at the Kimberley Conference & Athlete Training Centre.
Supported by RBC Royal Bank, Leadercast is a one-day leadership training event broadcast live from Atlanta, Georgia to hundreds of locations and over 125,000 attendees worldwide. This year’s theme is ‘The Brave Ones’ and features nine keynote speakers of varying backgrounds and professions. These individuals are known for innovation, standing up to opposition and embracing risk and on May 8 they will share their learning and insight on leadership in business, government and non-profits.
Leadercast JCI Kootenay Chair James Farnan adds that the event is “an extremely valuable networking opportunity for community leaders and aspiring leaders alike to meet and discuss the day’s learnings and build relationships. You won’t find this quality of leadership training anywhere else in the Kootenays.”
This year’s speakers include:
Malala Yousafzai | Nobel Laureate; Founder, The Malala Fund;
Ed Catmull | President of Pixar & Disney Animation Studios;
Rudy Giuliani | 107th Mayor of New York City (1993-2001);
Andy Stanley | Leadership author and communicator;
Bill McDermott | CEO of SAP AG;
Aja Brown | Mayor, City of Compton;
CMDR Rorke Denver | Navy SEAL Commander & author;
Seth Godin | Innovative Thinker & best-selling author.
These speakers represent different industries, societies and many levels of leadership and brings their own perspective on the topic.
Leadercast JCI Kootenay runs from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with registration from 8 a.m. at the Kimberley Conference and Athlete Training Centre.
Tickets are now on sale. Tickets are available online at Snapd East Kootenay and at the Bedroom Furniture Galleries in Cranbrook. Tickets include a catered lunch and refreshments.
