Speed Watch volunteers thanked
April 12-18 was National Volunteer Week. The Kimberley RCMP recently held a lunch at the detachment to show their appreciation.
Eight volunteers from the local Speed Watch attended and were treated to hamburgers with all the fixings, side dishes and a beautiful cake. Speed Watch is one of the many groups in the community that is committed to making Kimberley a better place.
Speed Watch contributes to the safety of our streets through education and awareness.
Detachment commander Cpl. Chris Newel thanked the volunteers for their support.
Acting City of Kimberley Mayor Albert Hoglund spoke on behalf of the city and commented on the visibility they provide in promoting road safety.
