Toastmasters holding membership-building event
Cranbrook First Toastmasters is holding a membership-building event.
Why join Toastmasters? The Sam Steele Sweethearts might tell you that they learn how to respond to any question posed to them in two minutes or they may talk to you about how they have learned to make a speech in front of all the dessert auction goers and have it judged. The Sweethearts might also express how they are learning leadership skills while they are learning to be better public speakers.
The Sweethearts are getting this education from our own club members Kathy Simon and Midge Naylor. You can learn it, too, by joining our club. Try a test meeting on May 28 at College of the Rockies, room 210 at 7:15 p.m.
If it meets your expectations you can join the club on June 11 and get $10 off of a membership.
There is only one way to find out if this will work for you and that is trying Toastmasters, like David Farrell. David is pictured here with the trophies from the Division C contest held in Vernon in April. David went on to the District 21 finals and placed a close second in both the Evaluation Contest and the International Speech Contest. He nearly made it to Las Vegas for the International Speech Contest to determine the Best Speaker in the World.
