Obituary for Bill Elliott
It saddens us to announce the passing of Bill (H.W) Elliott …our Papa.
He died in the early morning hours of Monday, December 21, 2020 with June at his side, after a brief stay in the Palliative Care Unit of the East Kootenay Regional Hospital, Cranbrook, B.C.
Bill was born in Regina, Sask. but spent most of his early years in Lethbridge, Alberta, followed by a brief period in Edmonton, Alberta. He moved to Cranbrook in 1970 to start his business, Valley Pump Service, and eventually Billās Automotive and Specialty Repair. He met many people during this time who became some of his current closest friends.
He was an avid downhill skier for many years before his motorcycle accident in 2015, unfortunate injuries prevented Bill from future ski days. His first love was for motorcycles, and in his early teens he always had one…. or many of them. This was followed closely by his love of cars, the āHot Rodā variety. He was a mechanic by trade but was always āmaking things betterā because of his ability to creatively modify and improve whatever he was working on. His creativity also led him to design a mountain bike rear suspension system, which Rocky Mountain Bicycles of Vancouver, B.C., continue to produce to this day.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, June, son Mark Elliott (granddaughter Holly) of Surrey, B.C.; daughter Nicole Fulton and husband Jamie (granddaughters Mackenzie and Breelin) of Cranbrook, sister Debbie Barlott and husband Paul of Edmonton, Alberta.
He was predeceased by his parents Harold and Alice Elliott of Edmonton, Alberta.
Due to Covid, there are no services planned at this time.
