Obituary of Emma Bohme

It is with great sadness we say goodbye to Emma Bohme, who passed away of natural causes on April 4, 2023 at East Kootenay Regional Hospital at the age of 91. She was born in Poland, and moved to Canada in the early 1950s with her family. Shortly thereafter she married our Dad, Fred, and they were together for 57 wonderful years before his passing 10 years ago. She was an immaculate homemaker, and took so much pride in that. She enjoyed working with Dad at their business of 30 years, The Black Forest Haus of Gifts in Kimberley. The highlights and joys of her life were Christmases spent with family, her daily power walks, baking/cooking, vacations with Dad, music and song, and her patio flower displays every summer.

Our Mom was a kind, considerate, selfless, and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced many challenges and losses with courage, strength, and dignity. She was a source of inspiration to us all, and her ‘never give up, accept life as it is’ attitude will be respected and remembered forever.

She’ll be missed by her children Erica (John), Linda (Dan), Sylvia (Perry), son-in-law Dale, sister Rennie and brother-in-law Dave and numerous nieces and nephews. Also grandchildren Tyson (Robynn), Jessica, Katie, Jordan, Brenda, Amber, Jade, and Hudson. She is at peace and reunited now with her husband Fred, daughter Rita, parents and many siblings.
