Obituary of Evan Stewart Yurkoski
Evan Stewart Yurkoski
Evan was born on October 15, 1945, in Yorkton, Saskatchewan to Gordon and Kathleen Yurkoski. After a short time in Craven, SK, the family settled in Regina, SK, where Evan and his seven siblings grew up. Evan sold real estate for over 30 years and at one point worked alongside his father, Gordon at Gordon’s Realty.
Evan raised his family in Regina and in 1999, Evan and Bernice moved back to Cranbrook, to the beautiful Rocky Mountains that he loved so much. Evan spent many years educating himself on God’s word, and he felt it was his job to pass this information on to others. He always tried to help others any way he could and would often buy groceries for others before worrying about himself. He loved to give and was always wanting to help.
Evan is survived by his ex-wife, Bernice Yurkoski (Gottinger), son Stuart Maley, daughter Coreen Maley (grandchildren Nikki, Robbie, Brandon and Alex), son Jason Yurkoski (Laurie Beck), daughter Shari Bradford (Cory), son Jon Yurkoski (Stacy), grandchildren Jillan (Ben Kozak), Dylan and great granddaughter, Mia. Evan is also survived by his sister Diane (Ralph Haryett), brother Clayton (Mercy), sister Doreen, brother Charlie, Aunt Lucile Stewart and many nieces and nephews.
Evan was predeceased by parents Gordon and Kathleen, three brothers: Ted, Lorne and Allan and by his grandson, Riley Bradford.
