Henry Edwin Chadwick
He married Doreen Lee on April 19, 1954, and together they moved to Canada in 1967, with Harry continuing his teaching career in Powell River BC. Harry obtained his Canadian Citizenship in November 1971.
After moving to Canada, Harry taught school in a number of locations throughout British Columbia including Powell River, the Central Okanagan (Westbank), Saanich, Fernie and lastly, Jaffray Elementary Jr. Secondary. While pursuing his teaching career in British Columbia, Harry obtained his Bachelor of Education Degree from Simon Fraser University in May 1976. After his retirement from teaching, Harry continued to reside in Cranbrook.
Harry was a very skilled woodworker, and an accomplished artist. During his retirement years, he painted numerous pictures of various subjects, including portraits, flowers, landscapes and sailing ships.
He was predeceased by his wife Doreen on February 19, 2015. He was also predeceased by both of his parents and a sister, and is survived by his remaining sister Anne Durrant, as well as a number of nieces and nephews, all of whom reside in England.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday September 13, 2023 at 10:00 am at McPherson Funeral Service in Cranbrook, British Columbia. The service will be livestreamed and recorded for those unable to attend in person, and will be available to view through the McPherson website and facebook page.
