Obituary of James Earl Croisdale
James Earl Croisdale
Jim will be remembered by all who knew him as a kind and gentle person who was always willing to help others – especially when it came to carpentry and construction. He was an enthusiastic Bridge player, and loved card games and crossword puzzles. His kids and grandchildren were his heart and soul; Bapa was very proud of every one of them.
Jim was born in Vancouver, BC on April 20, 1943 to Earl and Margaret (Behan) Croisdale. He grew up in Abbotsford, BC with his sister Elaine. Jim’s start in construction came through his father’s construction company and through his long career in construction management and renovations. Jim’s managerial skills took him into book-keeping and managing operations for a company building grain elevators and terminals across the prairies to Thunder Bay. All throughout his life Jim was an active volunteer through the RCMP Auxiliary service, the Knights of Columbus, many community support organizations, and later at the Wasa Lake Lions club.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Wilma, and his family Kim (Coral, Rohan and Reid), Tim (Carlene, Christopher, and Nolan), and Melissa (Pierre, Melanie, Alex and Geoffrey), Jamie (Stephanie, Nova and Knoxley), Evan, and Karen. Jim is predeceased by his parents, Earl and Margaret, and his sister Elaine.
The family is grateful to the emergency response team that assisted Jim in his final moments. The care and compassion of these individuals is heartfelt and greatly appreciated.
In his memory, we ask that donations be made to the Cranbrook Food Bank.
The family invites you to join them for a Funeral Mass in celebration of Jim’s life at Sacred Heart Church in Kimberly, BC on Saturday December 21, 2024 at 11:00 am. Following the Mass, a luncheon will be held in the parish hall.
