Obituary of Keith Watson
Keith WATSON
With heavy hearts, we had to say goodbye to Keith.
Keith was born in Fernie on June 14, 1951 to parents George and Roberta. When Keith was 9, the family moved to Uranium City, SK and a few weeks later, he welcomed his little brother Robbie. Keith attended elementary school in Uranium City and later went to Luther College in Regina for high school.
In 1974, Keith returned to Fernie where he joined the Fernie Fire Department and was hired full time in 1976. He enjoyed a 38-year career doing what he loved. It was while spending time at the fire hall that he met his wife of 46 years, Jeannie Matthews through his soon-to-be brother-in-law. They often pointed fingers at one another, blaming the ‘Marriage Bed” for a long laugh-filled relationship. Keith and Jeannie, with her daughter Jennifer, were married on August 25, 1977. in 1978 TJ was born to complete the Watson family.
Keith enjoyed spending time laughing and spreading the bull over a pint with good friends and family. There were many great times at Rosen Lake, helping Raymond with little summer projects like hanging drywall or staining the cabin. Evenings were spent conversing around the campfire and howling at the moon with Cookie.
Keith will be forever missed; things will never be quite the same without him. Rest easy Big Guy, until we meet again.
