Obituary of Maurice Martin BLONDEAU
Maurice Martin BLONDEAU
It is with sadness that we share the passing of Maurice “Moe” Blondeau on October 22, 2022 in Fernie, BC at the age of 66. Moe’s life ended far too soon after a short battle with lung cancer.
Moe is survived by his son Joshua (Caeli) Blondeau (Sparwood, BC), daughters Shannon (Dennis) Georgopoulos (Cranbrook, BC) and Mallory (James) Blondeau (Radium, BC), grandsons Dionysos Georgopoulos (Cranbrook, BC) and William Blondeau (Sparwood, BC), and siblings Brian (Kirsten) Blondeau, Claudette (Doug) Moran, and Dawn (Dale) Anderson. He was preceded in death by his wife Dianne Blondeau, father Martin Blondeau, mother Violet Blondeau and sisters Anne Hall and Zoe Gravelle.
Moe was born on January 6, 1956 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. He moved to Hinton Alberta, where he met the love of his life Dianne. They married in Hinton in 1983 and had two children, Joshua and Mallory. In 2000, he united with his eldest daughter Shannon. Moe worked as a carpenter and in the Hinton and Sparwood coal mines. Moe was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed playing a variety of team sports, golfing with friends and family, and cheering on his beloved Maple Leafs and Roughriders.
Moe was easygoing, good humored and a friend to all. He will be dearly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Huntington Society of Canada.
