With our deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Stephen McWhirter on Monday, February 12th, 2018.

Steve was born on September 29th, 1950 in High River, Alberta to Edith and Ed McWhirter. The family moved to Marysville, BC in 1952 where Steve attended Marysville Elementary School, McKim Middle School and Selkirk Secondary School in Kimberley. Steve worked for many years for Cominco in Kimberley and then in Red Dog Mine in Alaska after the Kimberley Operations ended.

He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Jim, his sister Elsie Starchuk and his wife Faye Arrons. Steve is survived by his loving wife Cindy, children Karen (Aron), Aaron (Kim), Victoria (Mike), Christina (Brian), Colin (Suzy) and Tina, thirteen grandchildren Tom, Laura, China, Shekinah, Nick, Ashley, Baylee, Ricky, Alex, Karli, Karissa, Taylor and Logan, his brother Bob and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring or early summer.
