Al Purdy was Here fourth in series
The fourth film in the Cranbrook Sunrise Rotary Club’s Rockies Film Series is Al Purdy Was Here, playing January 21 at the Columbia Theatre.
Rotten Tomatoes says, “this documentary profiles Canadian poet Al Purdy, who first came to prominence in the 1960s with a style of writing that attempted to capture the tenor of modern life. The film includes archival footage of Purdy from television appearances, as well as interviews with friends, colleagues, and fellow artists.”
Directed by Brian D. Johnson, Al Purdy Was Here made its world premiere at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival.
