Bring in 2016 with CCT

Cranbrook Community Theatre (CCT) is hosting a gala fundraiser event this New Year’s Eve.

The evening starts with a staged reading of Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan’s musical ‘Young Frankenstein’ in the theatre. Then ring in 2016 in the Studio with refreshments, including bubbly of course, and entertainment.

The gala fundraiser is the brainchild of Producer/Director Brenda Babinski; who is making her CCT directorial debut.

“We have an amazing cast of talented actors, singers and dancers, featuring Tyrel Hawke who plays the title role. This musical is hilarious, bawdy and very true to the Mel Brooks’ classic movie Young Frankenstein,” said Babinski. “Evan Bueckert is our musical director and Beth Turcon is handling choreography. It is very exciting to watch it take shape.”

Brenda has assembled a top-notch cast of singers and actors to bring this event to Cranbrook audiences. Rehearsals for Young Frankenstein are underway.

“This is an exciting opportunity for CCT supporters to dust of their evening gowns and tails and bring in 2016 with dramatic flair,” said CCT Production Manager Jennifer Inglis. “When Brenda and I first met to discuss this event, her energy was so contagious, I knew we just had to do it.”

A limited number of tickets will be available at Lotus Books or you can email Brenda at [email protected] . Funds raised will be used by CCT to continue the society’s mission of theatre for the community by the community.

After the NYE gala fundraiser, CCT continues its season with ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’ in January followed by ‘The Odd Couple’ in May.

CCT has been entertaining Cranbrook and area audiences for over 50 years. We strive to promote and develop local talent on stage, behind the scenes, or in the director’s chair. CCT believes theatre, music, dance, and art play an important part in the community. We are pleased to call the Studio/Stage Door home.
