Brody’s Crop Circles debuts number one on iTunes
Jaffray’s Dean Brody set a new Canadian music record recently, becoming the first male Canadian artist to earn two number one at Country radio, in BDS and Mediabase history.
Brody’s 2012 anthem, ‘Canadian Girls,’ and his latest smash ‘Bounty’ (featuring Lindi Ortega) were both number one Most Added (All formats) upon release, #1 selling Country singles at iTunes Canada, and spent multiple weeks at number one on CMT Canada’s Top 20 Countdown.
This week, Brody was named 2013’s number one Most Played Canadian Artist at Country radio, his third consecutive year to receive this title. His fourth album, Crop Circles, released November 5, debuted at number one on the iTunes Canada Country Album chart and number three on the Canadian Country Album chart (#1 non-holiday album) (Nielsen Soundscan).
As the reigning CCMA Male Artist of the Year, the seven-time CCMA Award winner and two-time JUNO nominee has garnered ample acclaim for his songwriting from both audiences and peers, and has amassed considerable mainstream media attention. His recent features include Sun Media, George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight, Canada AM (CTV), Global Morning and Entertainment Tonight Canada.
In May, Brody was selected as one of Hello! Canada’s 50 Most Beautiful Canadians, helping to further lift the Canadian Country genre into the mainstream spotlight. Beginning January 29, Brody will launch his national headlining arena tour that will visit 18 cities. Florida-native and winner of NBC’s The Voice, Cassadee Pope, will join as the opening act for each night. For more go to: www.deanbrody.com .
