After 50 years on the board of directors for Cranbrook Community Theatre, Bud Abbott has resigned.

Bud attended his last board meeting, CCT’s Annual General Meeting, on Tuesday, September 17. At the meeting Bud was presented with keys to the Studio/Stage Door in honour of his years of services.

In 1973, Bud and Cornel Sawchuck spearheaded the movement to save the Masonic Temple (now known as the Studio/Stage Door) from the wrecking ball. The City of Cranbrook turned the building over to the Community Theatre, which has since acted as stewards of the building. Thank you Bud!
